Catalog description

PREREQUISITES: INFM 109 Informatics Fundamentals or (SDEV120 Computing Logic and VISC 104 Experience/Interface (UX/UI) ). CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is a discipline concerned with the design, evaluation, and implementation of interactive computing systems for human use. Students are introduced to the fundamental theories and concepts of human computer interaction. This course examines the various uses of information and information technology and how it involves the study, planning, and design of the interaction between humans and computers. Students will explore information representation and data visualization. Students will be introduced to the analysis of human factors and the design of computer application interfaces including a perspective of HCI designs in historical, current, and future technologies.
