Catalog description
Prerequisites:INDT 113 - Industrial Electrical I or EECT 111 - Introduction to Circuit Analysis or SMDI 130 Electrical Systems for Smart Manufacturing Corequisites: Pre/Corequisites: Description:Introduces the basic theory, operation and programming of programmable logic controllers. Demonstrates how to connect to a PLC and basic network, the use of industry software for programming and monitoring PLC behavior, basic programming with ladder logic, Boolean logic, digital numbering systems, input/output configuration, PLC & motor control wiring & print reading, PLC counters and timers, sequencing and basic troubleshooting. This course will use lecture, lab, online simulation and programming to prepare students with introductory knowledge of PLCs for working in the field as an installation and troubleshooting PLC technician.
