CATALOG DESCRIPTION: This course provides the opportunity for the investigation of career opportunities, ethics, history, and functions of the health information management profession. Provides an overview of the organization of healthcare delivery, including various types of healthcare institutions, accreditation standards, licensure and regulatory agencies, and payment and reimbursement systems. Introduces basic concepts and terminology for data accuracy, security, privacy, and confidentiality in manual and computerized systems.
