Prerequisites:EDUC 101 - Introduction to Teaching and Learning or SPED 102 - Introduction to Inclusive Teaching and Learning Corequisites: Pre/Corequisites: Description:This course provides the elementary education major a foundation in physical, mental, social, personal wellness and health education. Knowledge and skills are examined for planning and implementing health and physical education curricula to promote physical fitness and healthy living for children from kindergarten through 6th grade. Course topics include adaptive physical education, mental health, social-emotional learning, national & state health education standards, and nutrition science. This course may be offered in Face to Face, Blended, Virtual, or Learn Anywhere formats. OBSERVATIONAL FIELD EXPERIENCE STATEMENT: Observational Field Experience in an educational environment may be required as part of this course.
