Catalog description

PREREQUISITES: Demonstrated readiness for developmental English. CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Focuses on skill development in parents that provides knowledge regarding healthy development in young children, building self-esteem, communicating with young children, setting appropriate boundaries and nurturing emotional and social development in children. Examines models of parent education, parenting styles, and the need for parent empowerment. Analyzes the effects of parent involvement in children’s educational experiences. Students may be required to complete observations and field experiences with children as related to this course.
