PREREQUISITES: BIOT 100: Survey of Biotechnology PRE/COREQUISITES: COREQUISITES: DESCRIPTION: Introduces the basic theory and operation of programmable automation controllers. Demonstrates how to connect to a PAC and basic network as well as the use of industry software for monitoring PAC behavior. A special emphasis is placed on DeltaV software. This course uses lecture, laboratory activities, and online simulations to prepare students with introductory knowledge of PACs for working as an operator in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
