Prerequisites: Corequisites: Pre/Corequisites:BIOT 100 - Survey of Biotechnology; and BIOL 105 - Biology I - Molecular and Cellular Processes or Program Advisor Approval. Description:Students will learn the most basic laboratory techniques in biotechnology. Lab safety, documentation, units of measurement, instrumentation, lab solutions, aseptic technique, establishing a pure culture, plasmid DNA isolation, restriction enzyme digestion, DNA agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, DNA ligation and transformation of bacterial cells will be introduced during the course.
