PREREQUISITES: ASEP 100 Introduction to GM ASEP Program PRE/COREQUISITES: COREQUISITES: DESCRIPTION: In this second course of a two-part sequence, students advance their study of the construction, diagnosis, service, and repair of internal combustion engines used in modern GM passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks. Instruction emphasizes correct use of precision measuring tools and GM-specific service equipment. Students analyze the theory and operation of multiple GM engine designs and apply procedures for inspection, troubleshooting, and repair. Throughout the course, students complete required modules in GM’s Center of Learning (service technician online training) and conclude the sequence by taking the nationally recognized ASE A1 Engine Repair certification exam.
