PREREQUISITES: ASEP 100 Introduction to GM ASEP Program PRE/COREQUISITES: COREQUISITES: DESCRIPTION: This is the first of two courses on GM internal combustion engines for late-model passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks. Students study engine theory and fundamental construction, learn to identify major components, and practice safe service procedures. Emphasis is placed on the use of precision measuring instruments and GM-specific tools and equipment for inspection, diagnosis, and repair. Topics include operating principles across common GM engine designs, measurement and tolerances, failure modes, and OEM documentation. Students also continue required GM Center of Learning online modules and build readiness for related ASE certification exams.
