Catalog description

ANTH 1H is the study of human biology within the framework of evolution, with an emphasis on the interaction between biology and culture. The course introduces students to the principles of evolution and natural selection, the fossil evidence of human evolution, primate behavior, and the biological basis of human variation. This honors course will be enriched through limited class size, seminar format and more extensive reading and analysis of primary research, culminating in a final research project and oral presentation. Credit may be earned in either ANTH 1 or 1H, but not both. C-ID: ANTH 110
