Catalog description

Paramedic I introduces students to the fundamental concepts of patient assessment, airway management, and pharmacology. These concepts are reinforced within the introductory laboratory experience within the paramedic program. Skills are reviewed and retested from the Emergency Medical Technician level. New skills will involve patient assessment, airway management, cardiac and pharmacology, including drug math. (3/4) Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Note: Students must be at least 18 years old and hold current EMT certification.
