Early Childhood Field Experience is the application and integration of theory and developmentally appropriate evidence-based practices in an early childhood setting. Students are placed in selected programs serving children birth through age five to work with culturally, linguistically, and ability diverse young children and families. This experience emphasizes professional relationships and behavior, appropriate adult/child interactions, curriculum planning, and program routines. (1/6) Prerequisites: ECE-133 Child Health, Safety and Nutrition; EDU-160 Human Growth and Development; ECE-153 Early Childhood Curriculum I with Lab; ECE-156 Early Childhood Curriculum II with Lab; ECE-103 Introduction to Early Childhood Education; ECE-244 Early Childhood Guidance with Lab; and ECE-120 Communication With Families. Note: Criminal background check is required.
