Catalog description

Criminal Law examines the means by which society attempts to use criminal law to prevent harm to society. It examines the acts that are declared criminal and the punishment for committing those acts, as well as current substantive criminal law, English common law, and the United States Constitution. Topics include crimes against the person, such as homicide; crimes against property and habitation, such as burglary; and crimes against public order and morals, such as prostitution. Students also examine defenses against prosecution, such as insanity and entrapment. (3/0)
