Catalog description

Advanced Concepts of Nursing Clinical focuses on the advanced nursing care of patient, families and communities with complex multi-system health problems in the acute and community settings. Students apply theoretical concepts and implement safe patient care to adult patients, families and communities with complex health alterations that require medical and/or surgical intervention in a variety of settings. The course emphasizes leadership, time management and organizational skills, while managing the care of multiple patients and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team in the acute and community settings. Focus is given to effective care, assessment and evaluation of patients, families and populations using evidence-based best practices, informatics, safety and clinical reasoning. (0/0/4) Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or higher in Maternal Child Nursing II, Concepts of Nursing I, and Concepts of Nursing Clinic.
