Catalog description

Study of risk factors associated with cardiorespiratory diseases. Includes the management and prehospital treatment of patients with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Discussion of electrophysiology related to the electrical conduction system, as well as the interpretation of electrocardiographic monitoring. Identification of cardiorespiratory emergencies that put the patient's life at risk. Description of the prehospital evaluation and management of a patient with abnormal heart rhythm, defibrillation, cardioversion, and use of external pacemakers. Analysis of the indications, contraindications and techniques of oxygen administration, as well as methods for assisted and mechanical ventilation of a patient with severe respiratory problems. Requires 30 hours of lecture and 90 hours of laboratory.
