Catalog description
Analysis of the cellular and molecular aspects of the mammalian immune system. The course discusses the development of immune system cells, antigen processing and presentation, receptors, immunological tolerance, signaling, NK cells, homeostasis mechanisms, and immunosuppression. Emphasis will be placed on the structure and function of antibodies and their therapeutic application, as well as the importance of immunology in gene and cell therapy. New trends in the field of immunology will also be discussed. Requires 45 lecture hours and 45 laboratory hours.
