Impart knowledge about sampling processes, prepare and analyze soil, plant and water samples. Interpret chemical results for the management of environmental quality and soil fertility. Understand the soil chemical processes of each plant nutrient. Become familiar with commonly used instruments: their operation, the preparation of common analytical reagents for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of soil and plant samples. Requires 30 hours of lecture and 45 hours of laboratory.
