Catalog description

Analysis and discussion of the curriculum, teaching and evaluation of Spanish Language Arts in early and primary education (K-5 level). In-depth exploration of the learning standards and expectations established in the Spanish Program of the Puerto Rico Department of Education. Detailed study and evaluation of the stages of literacy development in the early years and evidence-based methods for teaching phonological awareness, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and written composition. Design of effective and innovative lesson plans and learning environments that incorporate various technological strategies for teaching reading, creative writing and grammar with a clear focus on active and meaningful student learning.
