Curriculum, Teaching and "Assessment" of Social Studies in the Elementary Level (K-5)

Catalog description

Analysis and discussion of the Social Studies curriculum with emphasis on mastery, interpretation, and understanding of grades K-5 curricular content. Study of the content standards, grade expectations and performance indicators of each grade at the K-5 elementary level in the Social Studies Program of the Puerto Rico Department of Education. It includes the diagnosis of needs, planning, execution, evaluation and assessment related to the teaching-learning process, through demonstration classes and other educational tools, taking into consideration the individual and social differences of all students. Critical analysis of the various technological tools, computerized programs adapted to the teaching of social studies at this level.
