The course is designed to help physical therapist assistant students understand the types of commonly used physical therapy documentation, writing written documentation using appropriate medical terminology and abbreviations. Discussion of the psychological, sociological and emotional elements, as well as their impact on the patient's rehabilitation. Discussion of the definitions of the different types of studies and designs used in physical therapy, emphasizing intervention studies and evidence-based practice.
