Study of energy forms and common units of measurement. Fundamentals of energy conversion. Identification of fossil fuels and their different uses. Discussion of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy. Description of nuclear energy for electricity generation. Understanding the environmental implications of energy production and consumption. Study of the causes and effects of climate change. Requires 30 lecture hours and 30 closed laboratory hours.
