Ethcl & Lgl Practice/Schl Psyc
University of Indianapolis · GRAD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The purpose of this course is to give an overview of ethical and legal issues in the context of clinical practice and research in the field of school psychology. Thus, in addition to developing skills in case presentation and formulation, you will develop knowledge of the ethical and legal context within which you will practice. You will focus on the ethical and legal dimensions of your current practicum placement experiences, as well as learn a structure for and receive practice in making case presentations. This is not a group supervision class; rather, it is an opportunity for you to learn what the ethics code requires, what federal and state laws require, and how to apply those requirements to your practicum cases to provide thoughtful care.
