Catalog description

This course covers the basic skills needed to administer and interpret individual intelligence tests. Specifically, three tests will be highlighted: the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children: Fifth Edition (WISC-V), the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale: Fifth Edition (WAIS-5), and the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, Second Edition, Normative Update (KABC-II NU). To do an effective job with these tests, it is important that you have a background in child / lifespan development, tests and measurement, statistics, abnormal psychology, and exceptional children. It is recommended that you review these areas concurrently with your study of the tests covered in this course. Excellent written communication skills (e.g., spelling, grammar, and sentence construction) are also expected. Students must concurrently enroll in (lecture) and (lab) for this course.
