Latin American Literature

Catalog description

This course overviews Latin American literature through varied texts (short stores, poetry, and novel) from the 20th and 21st century. It is designed for graduate students to foster a discussion about the major themes and authors in the region. Latin America is a diverse and extended territory: full of contrast, racially diverse, and culturally heterogenous. We address in this course parts of that complexity by reading writers from distant parts of the region and from different backgrounds and cultures. The course will be conducted entirely in Spanish.
