Catalog description

This course is designed to develop the student's use and appreciation of scientific knowledge for practice. The course includes study and integrating knowledge, skills, and values in the areas of social work values and ethics, diversity, social and economic justice, populations-at-risk, human behavior and the social environment, social welfare policy and services, social work practice, and field practice. Course focuses on both practice evaluation and program evaluaation issues and is designed to strengthen the student's understanding and appreciation of a scientific, analytic approach to building knowledge for the delivery and evaluation of practice. Prerequisites: admission to MSW program and successful completion of statistics undergraduate course.
