Catalog description

This course is designed to familiarize students with the basic structure of cities and communities. It will focus on the historical development of cities and communities, their contemporary characteristics, and future prospects, as well as the social experience of living in cities and communities. Specific topics will include urban growth and development, residential segregation, neighborhood effects, crime, housing outcomes, and gentrification and displacement.
