Social Inequality

Catalog description

Examination of the ways that social class, poverty and culture impact the lived experiences of individuals and groups in the United States and other selected contemporary societies. This course draws upon theories of stratification as well as analyzes social institutions and practices that maintain, promote, or reduce inequality. This course will also examine the intersections of social class with other statuses such as race, gender, and sexual orientation.
