This course examines purchasing as a strategic function within the supply chain. Topics include sourcing strategies; supplier evaluation and selection; cost and price analysis; contract development and administration; negotiation processes; and quality management. Emphasis is placed on supplier relationship management, ethical and socially responsible sourcing, and the integration of purchasing decisions with organizational objectives and the broader supply environment.
