Provides necessary background material and strategies related to new literacies across the curriculum. The course also integrates earning for unit and lesson planning. Students learn specific strategies related to new literacies and learning, with some emphasis on teaching English language learners. Students review traditional classroom materials, the role of supplemental texts, and applications of Web 2.0. The role of writing to learn also is addressed, with specific strategies and applications appropriate to various content areas.
