Catalog description

This course introduces the essential patient care skills of bed mobility, transfers, locomotion and wheelchair/assistive device management. Basic body mechanics and patient safety skills are taught and applied through lecture and practical patient case scenarios. Class activities include lecture, lab, and problem solving with case studies. Learning is assessed through written assignments, quizzes, written examinations, and practical examinations.
