Catalog description

This course examines the psychological processes that influence family life throughout the lifespan. It focuses on how families develop, adapt, and function as dynamic systems influenced by culture, socioeconomic factors, and individual differences. Topics include attachment, parenting, family communication, conflict and resilience, gender roles, intergenerational relationships, and the impact of stress, trauma, and social change on families. Emphasis is placed on applying psychological theories and empirical research to understand contemporary family experiences and to promote well-being within diverse family contexts.
