Orientation to Physics

Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce students to the study of science, with a focus on the physics, earth-space and environmental science community and research here at UIndy. Through a variety of activities and discussions, students will have the opportunity to get to know faculty and staff and to build connections with their peers while exploring the practice of science and its importance to society. Topics covered include faculty research interests and expertise, the nature of science, the learning process, and opportunities for student involvement in research and extracurricular activities. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with alumni and professionals in the field, providing them with a broader perspective on the opportunities available to them after graduation. By the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of opportunities for study, research, as well as a practical knowledge of the program here at UIndy.
