Catalog description

This course introduces population-focused nursing practice through theoretical and practical applications. Principles of primary care and public health nursing are used to identify population health needs. Social and health policy, vulnerability issues, and environmental health issues are emphasized. Through community partnerships students will collaborate with individuals, families, and group members. Using the nursing process, students will then complete a community-centered project that foster health promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention
