Teacher Residency Seminar
University of Indianapolis · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
An accompaniment to student teaching (Residency Capstone), Seminar is a course that helps the student teacher make sense of the clinical experience. It provides a forum for student teachers to converse with other student teachers and to explore questions about student teaching with an eye toward the professional seminar. In each seminar session, we will discuss various aspects of teaching, such as planning, instruction, assessment, and classroom management. The requirements for this class are structured to help student teachers develop a teaching persona that will serve them well in their own classroom, to help them gain confidence in asking questions and reflecting on their own teaching.
