Applied Jazz Studies-Saxophone

Catalog description
Private instruction related to the jazz idiom. Meets fifty minutes per week. Program of study will be determined by the instructor and student together, based on the student's ability to perform within the jazz idiom on their primary instrument. Topics may include (but are not limited to): transcription of whole and partial recorded jazz solos by master musicians, style, articulation, instrument-specific jazz performance techniques, and melodic/harmonic/rhythmic vocabulary.
