Level 1B Fieldwork

Catalog description
Students will complete 2 full-time weeks of fieldwork with an occupational therapy practitioner to allow students to apply their academic knowledge in a clinical setting and build upon those skills acquired and applied during Level JA Fieldwork. Students will again be exposed to various practice settings reflective of current practice and across the lifespan. During this fieldwork experience the student will perform selected aspects of the OT process at the fieldwork site under the supervision of the fieldwork educator with an emphasis on evaluation and program planning. This fieldwork experience also requires the student to describe how psychological and social factors influence occupational engagement. Students will be expected to document in a professional manner and utilize appropriate communication skills with staff and clients. Reflection, grading, and processing of this fieldwork experience will take place with applications made to past and future courses. Prerequisites: Must be accepted into the Master of Occupational Therapy Program or granted program permission to register for this course. Issues in Practice II
