Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to provide oversight of the internship experience for students in the Mental Health Counseling (MHC) and MHC Art Therapy Programs. Students will gain supervised clinical experience in a community setting. Students will participate in treatment planning, goal setting, problem solving, clinical documentation, and termination activities. In addition, ethical issues and diversity considerations will be discussed. Students will be encouraged to practice theoretically-based and evidence-based practices. Case presentations and discussions are critical elements of this course.
