Catalog description
This course is designed to provide students with an orientation to the various theories, structural makeup, design, operations, and functions as related to health, fitness and sport performance facilities. Following an overview of the foundations of management and its various resources as they relate to facilities, the course will address program development and sustainability, facility development, and auxiliary functions that have an impact on the manager role. Understanding of organizational involvement, legal issues, trends in programming and management, development of administrative and professional policy, and current research findings relative to programming also will be included as topics.
