History/Systems of Psychology

Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the basic historical landmarks of modern psychology. Emphasis will be on major contemporary systematic positions, philosophy of science, structuralism, behaviorism, functionalism, Gestalt and psychoanalysis as well as recent psychological theories. The course examines core issues in the philosophy of science, with the aim of developing critical thinking skills, as well as current and future trends for the profession and science of psychology.
