Section information text: This course aims at introducing students to the concept of globalization and its implication for international politics. It will survey globalization in its political, economic, and cultural dimensions, all the time underlining potential conflicts that are generated in its wake. The key objective is to introduce students to the dangers posed to the nation-state and its political, economic and social structures by the foreign intrusions created by globalization. Students will be exposed to arguments that support globalization as well as those that call for a halt to the process. The course will also expose students to the many facets of globalization, emphasizing the cultural clash that emerges from competing value systems. Finally, this course involves critical thinking on the part of students in two assignments that are not examination based
