Section information text: Molecules That Made History” is a course designed to introduce students to a number of chemical compounds that have made a big impact on history. The course follows the text Napoleon’s buttons: 17 molecules that changed history. Through this book, along with other text, audio, and video materials, the impact of specific classes of chemicals can be understood, and how significantly these materials played a role in the shaping of our world will be examined. Additionally we will do a laboratory experiment for each unit to see first-hand how these materials work, are made, or cause change, giving students a hands-on approach to the science studied.
