Catalog description

Acquisition of knowledge and skills required for copyediting, design, and publishing of book manuscripts and long documents. An actual editing test acquaints students with publishing standards and prepares them for similar tests in careers. Emphasis on word processing techniques for on-screen revision and on industry-standard desktop publishing software. The theory and practice of visual rhetoric underlies the course. Prerequisite: ENGL-280 or permission of instructor. ENGL 280 strongly recommended as prerequisite.
