Catalog description

This studio focuses on using assessment to guide and improve learning. Candidates design and implement diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments that make student thinking visible and inform next steps in instruction. Technology tools are introduced as supports for assessment and feedback. Emphasis is placed on building feedback loops, checking for understanding, and designing assessments that improve engagement and achievement in STEM classrooms. Mentors play a central role by helping candidates review assessment tools, interpret student evidence, and provide feedback on how assessment informs instruction. Candidates also prepare for licensure exams through targeted practice and review activities.
