Catalog description

The SLAM Internship is a structured leadership residency aligned to Indiana Building-Level Administrator Standards. The internship provides candidates with supervised, authentic leadership experiences in their school or organizational setting. This internship is designed to integrate coursework with field-based leadership practice. Rather than completing isolated activities, candidates engage in focused, meaningful leadership work aligned to program priorities, indluding: Thriving Schools Audit work, School Improvement Action Study, improvement and implementation science application, ethical and data-informed leadership practice, engaging in mixed-media simulations to enhance decision-making, designing and implementing school- and district-level improvement initiatives, conducting action research on school, district, or community projects. Specific semester activities, deliverables, and deadlines are outlined in the SLAM Field Experience Handbook, which serves as the operational document for internship requirements.
