Catalog description

This course is a field-based practicum experience in a P-12 school and is paired with EDUC 517 Multimodal Literacy Based Instruction & ELLs and EDUC-506 Designing and Assessing Teaching and Learning. The practicum emphasizes meeting the needs of all students using multimodal literacy (including reading, writing, listening, and speaking) to support learning and academic language development in content area classrooms as well as assessment practices. Through this course candidates will work closely with a practicum supervisor to apply the course concepts in an immersive school setting experience. The practicum supervisor will provide supervision and feedback to the candidates as they work to apply course concepts in content area K-12 classrooms.
