An investigation into the diversity of life on earth, how taxonomic groups are classified, how organisms are related, how they evolved, and the biogeography of major taxa. Students will become acquainted with the major groups of prokaryotes, protists, animals, plants and fungi. Three lectures and one three-hour laboratory period per week.
