Catalog description
Introduction to viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites of biomedical importance. Lecture and laboratory exercises on classification and identification of microorganisms, host-agent interactions, and strategies for prevention of infectious disease. This course is intended primarily for students in the nursing program. Each week lab sessions are offered afternoon and evening so that students may have flexibility in completing laboratory work.
