Intro to Ecology and Evolution

Catalog description

An introduction to the evolution of life on earth and how organisms interact with each other and the surrounding environment. Students will be introduced to the process of mitosis, meiosis, evolution, natural selection, genetic drift, competition, predation, symbiosis, and other natural processes. Students will then learn how these processes have led to life on earth, how life interacts with its environment, and how it may be conserved. Two lectures, one two-hour discussion, and one two-hour laboratory period per week.
