Advanced Field Archeology

Catalog description

Advanced field archeology is a field immersion course that introduces students to current archeological excavation methods. Students are taught standard archeological unit and feature excavation and recording techniques and how to use archeological field equipment. The course is conducted off campus and may require extended periods of group living and/or camping. Sustained periods of outdoor acitivity (8 hrs/day) is required an may involve hiking, climbing, lifting, digging, working in the direct sun, and other mildly strenuous activities. Lab fee: $100.
