Catalog description

Building on introductory financial accounting, this course delves deeper into accounting theory and practice for business enterprises. Topics include detailed study of asset and liability recognition and measurement (e.g., cash and receivables, inventories, property/plant/equipment, intangilbles, impairment), current and non-current liabilities, and shareholders' equity. The course emphasizes conceptual frameworks underlying accounting standards, financial statements presentation and disclosure requirements, and ethical issues in financial reporting.
